ratingNutrient rich and relaxing!

An Argentinian friend turned me on to this drink. The herb itself is very bitter, but we drink it with lemon and brown sugar. The South Americans drink the Yerba in a traditional Mate cup and sip the drink through a Bombilla (straw-like filter). The drink is traditionally shared in a ritual manner among friends. In the PDR for Herbs there are NO contraindications listed for Yerba. It is in fact rich in potassium, magnesium and other vital minerals and vitamins. It is great for digestion and appetite suppression and I use it when I am doing a detox for cleansing. I drink it at least twice a day, several cups. It is stimulating, yet relaxing.

ratingThe best of all drinks!

As a Paraguayan, I know that in my culture this drink is very popular among all people. In Paraguay we differentiate two kinds: when the drink is made with cold water or ice, we call it "terere"; with hot water it is "mate." The terere we drink all the time--that is to say, in the morning and afternoon, except in the winter. Mate we drink early in the morning, before breakfast, as well as in the evening and in the winter.

ratingLove it, have got friends hooked on it too!

I started using this tea one year ago. I am always fighting a few pounds and heard through friends that this tea is helpful for losing weight. I gave it a try and fell in love. It helps a great deal with my ferocious sweet tooth. It is also an excellent diuretic. I am especially sensitive to caffeine, and have found this tea to be a great substitute. When I drink it, my energy level is enhanced, my creativity is top notch, and my sense of well-being is greatly improved. I make a large batch and refrigerate it(it's great cold!) Then, I drink it in small quantities throughout the day. It is refreshing, and is a wonderful appetite suppresant as well! Be careful, you might forget to eat! Yerba Mate Royale is also good for "staying regular." My friend and I simply won't do without "our tea!" I highly recommend this product for tea lovers and health nuts everywhere. Make sure you get "Royale"--it contains stevia which is a fabulous sweetener that helps with that old sweet tooth. I tried the plain Yerba Mate and found it not nearly as helpful.
