This wonderful spice is imported from Madagascar and is grown in a tropical plantation close to the sea. It takes 4000 to 7000 dried clove buds to make a pound of spice. Cloves are very aromatic and warming. They are the spiciest of the sweet spices. Ground cloves are commonly used in baked goods and desserts.
