Of all the coffee growing communities that we work with, Nicaragua most prominently depends on strong female leadership. Women in the community often lead all aspects of coffee farming and processing, which we are happy and proud to support.With revenues from Fair Trade sales, PRODECOOP has purchased a dry mill, and new machinery and equipment, all of which contribute to the cooperative?s quality standards. Fair Trade revenue and funding from various institutions have allowed PRODECOOP to install a quality control center and cupping lab. PRODECOOP has also implemented quality standards for its dry milling process and is currently creating a quality control center to regulate its export production.PRODECOOP received high scores at the 2003 Nicaraguan Cup of Excellence competition, solid proof of the cooperative"s attention to quality.
