As I can't stand the overwhelming dryness of OTC cough and congestion medication, I thought I'd try this as an alternative. I had to repeat the process twice a day, but felt cleansed after each time. I also thought I'd be uncomfortable about rinsing out my nasal passage, but it turned out to be quite simple.
It's good for conjestion but maybe not for sinuses
I have used the Neti pot successfully for congestion but not as successfully for clogged sinuses. It requires you do this over a bathtup or sink because you have to turn your head nearly unside down to let the water seep into your upper sinuses. It's a little bit awkward and if the sinuses are clogged shut, the water can't get in. I ended up taking Sudifed Sinus which clears me up but I hate living on Sudifed. For the price of admission, I would try it, but don't expect a miracle.
